Spring Makeup Look

I am thinking of doing the occasional, affordable, makeup look; and what a better way then to do some season focused ones. I have come up with a few different ideas for spring and am asking that you let me know which you would like to see.
1. Light mauve
2. Lavender haze
3. Minty greens
4. Peach and copper
5. Spring pastels
6. Pale orange cream
7. Smokey taupe

Perfumes of the Season.

Lately I have been on a bit of a perfume/body mist spree. So, in the spirit of sharing here is a list of what I have been using lately.

1. Far Away Bella - Avon.
"A beautiful journey layered with Italian clementine, rich Turkish rose and warm Brazilian tonka bean." - Great for Autumn. Warm, a little spicy, but not overwhelming.

2. Ultra Sexy Lace - Avon.
"The fragrance begins with fruity and tempting accords of passion fruit, pear and bergamot. Magnolia in the heart is infused with peach and peony. The base includes golden amber, musk and sweet woods." - A lite Autumn aroma, possibly early Spring. Fruity with a touch of spice and the smallest amount of warmth.

3. Snowdrop - Get Misty - Mark via Avon.
"The essence of a Winter Wonderland, with shimmering florals, chilled fruits and warm, spicy amber all cozying up to each other." - Winter. Fresh and crisp. Very much reminds me of that cool snowy night smell.

4. Spiced Orange Ginger - Avon.
"A sparkling blend of fresh orange, white ginger and cinnamon spice will set you up for a tantalizing teasing of the senses. " - Autumn. True to its name; it is a warm, spiced, citrus scent.

5. Dark Kiss - Bath and Body Works.
"A daring and seductive scent of berries, flowers and tempting night musk. It is a modern tale of forbidden love that will loose your hidden fantasies and primal passions.
(Top notes: bergamot, incense, Mirabelle plum and blackberry. Heart: amber, Burgundy rose, geranium and peony. Base: dark vanilla, labdanum, vetiver, balsams and musks.) " - Evening Summer or deep Winter. A sweet berry bouquet with warm dark sensual undertones.

6. Velvet Noir - Francesca's.
"This is one accessory that fits with every occasion: hidden in a cozy sweater curled up by the fire, adding a bit of confidence to brighten up a Monday, and the perfect statement addition to your little black dress and an unforgettable night out! Velvet Noir Eau de Parfum, a crisp and fresh scent inspired by the opulence of classical Russia.
(Top note is black currant; middle notes are freesia and star jasmine; base note is caramel.)" - Winter. A spicy blend of warmth and decadence that stays with you all day. Also happens to be my absolute favorite this season!

Moss Pots!

The long overdue tutorial for the moss pots is here! Please excuse the photos. I was using my old phone to snap some shots, at night, and well, lets just say they are less than worthy of Better Homes and Gardens.

(Instead of the "Welcome" mushroom, I have added small rabbit lawn ornaments to the pots in my living room.)
Alright, let's get the show on the road.

Items needed:
 1. Sheet moss
 2. Soil (I used top soil as moss tends to like the dirt cheap.)
 3. Sand
 4. Pot/Container
 5. Any type of decor you wish.

1. Line the base of the container with sand.
2. Mix remaining sand and some soil together and add as your second layer.
3. Top off with more soil. At this point you can set up some "terrain" if you wish. (I.E. dips, curves, hills, you know...)
4. Water the soil until moist.
5. Add your moss. Remember to press it into the dirt a little to help it adhere.
6. Finish with your decor.

Enjoy and don't forget to water! I found that using a spray bottle to moisten the moss works well.

Sharing The Lime Light

(or in this case it could be sunlight, or candlelight, or carb-lite)

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

As I have previously mentioned in passing my younger sister Heather writes her own blog called View To The Point where she reviews restaurants, gives helpful cooking tips, etc. That being so, we have decided to join forces every once in a while and combine our interests in order to provide you with creative ideas. We are not one-hundred percent sure as to what we will be covering since we are still in the planning stages, but as of thus far we are thinking about recipes, catering tips, decor ideas, party planning help, and perhaps even some health and body DIYs.
As always, if there is anything you would like covered, or something you want to share. Go for it! We would love to hear from you.

My Mom's Birthday

As I mentioned earlier my mom's birthday is really close to Mother's Day. This being so we celebrated on Sunday. By we I mean my mom, sister, her husband, my boyfriend, and myself. Being that my mom is wildly in love with Westies Heather, my sister, and I made a vintage inspired pennant banner that was held in place by two Westie silhouettes. To top it off Heather made a simple square cake with another of my Westie silhouettes to pull the whole thing together. And now I get to shamelessly plug my sister's blog by re-posting her link to the cake picture. As for the gift, my sister and I took pictures of ourselves and put them in a frame that just screamed my mom. I will be sure to post some when I get more time.

Mother's Day

I don't post my Polyvore ideas here often, but
seeing as how this is dedicated to my mom for her
birthday and Mother's Day, I thought I would let all
of you in on the fun.
Wishing all of you mothers out there a joyous
Mother's Day. May it be full of unforgetable memories.
